Sentiments from the owner:  Our family home's location is perfect. We are around the corner from fresh lobster and local restaurants and just a couple of miles from Old Orchard Beach and multiple grocery stores including the gourmet "On the Vine" in Scarborough. We are a short drive to Portland, Kennebunkport, and other charming destinations. But even with every modern convenience nearby, you will feel like you arrived at a quiet retreat the minute you walk up the path and catch your first breath of ocean air.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pantry staples, plentiful glasses for your happy hours, a propane grill in the gazebo, and two indoor and two outdoor dining areas. Kids are welcome in our home and we provide a pack-n-play, high chair, children's books, and family games. You are also set for the beach with 10 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, boogie boards, and sand toys!
This home has been in our family since 1895 and is very special to us.  My husband grew up spending many happy summers here and our children and grandchildren have made made countless special memories in this house as well. We hope you will enjoy it as we do and care for it like it is your own family's home.  
CANCELLATION POLICY:  If you cancel for any reason, your deposit/balance will not be refunded UNLESS the house is re-rented. Your refund then would be the re-rented rate minus the $100 service fee. Please keep in mind, the earlier we are aware of your cancellation, the better the chances of re-rental.

What a WONDERFUL stay it was! A most WONDERFUL stay indeed!

The Maine Beach Vacation House was absolutely the perfect place to stay during our time in Scarborough Maine. We were a combined-families-group of 10 adults plus an infant. There was never a moment that we felt crowded or in need of space. The house offers lots of separate spaces to get away for alone time as well - even on a rainy day. And jigsaw puzzles and games for those days too. 

The kitchen is so very well equipped. Plenty of dinnerware, pots, pans and utensils and we used the kitchen daily for at least two meals per day. There is also a nice grill for hamburgers and such in the gazebo next to the house. Used it too! We had a most wonderful lobster meal one night, purchasing our cooked lobster from East Grand Lobster, located within a short walk from the house. Then fixed a big pot of boiled potatoes and corn to go with - what a meal!

The house itself is located right on the beach! Seriously - on the beach - a short walk down a sandy path is all it takes to reach this beautiful beach. And plenty of beach chairs are provided. We collected shells, drift wood, and sea glass as we walked daily up and down the beach. 

It is a vintage home - wonderfully so! Updated of course, but remaining to keep the charm of its age. And quiet! The baby was in the bedroom next to ours (which was a concern for me as I am a very light sleeper) and cried some during the night. I never heard one cry in the 6 nights we stayed. 

The location is great - on the beach of course, near to places of interest - Portland, Kennebunkport, Old Orchard Beach, and various lighthouses, and some nice eateries and shops just across the street. 

Would we stay again? I asked.  And the resounding answer, “ Yes indeed!”
